New stores in DC this year, neighborhood by neighborhood
Washington got a solid crop of new stores in 2026, and most of them landed in the same few places: lower Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown, the warehouse blocks at Union Market, Bethesda Row and the two Tysons malls. This guide lists the openings we could confirm on a store, mall, BID or news page, says what each one is good for, and flags the stores that have been announced but haven't opened yet.
Everything here was open as of the pages we checked in late October 2026. Opening-week giveaways are over, so we skip them. If you only have one afternoon before the holidays, spend it on Wisconsin Avenue between M and O Streets, where four of the year's openings sit within a few blocks.
Georgetown: Uniqlo on M Street
Start with Uniqlo Georgetown (3262 M St NW), a 22,618-square-foot LifeWear store in Georgetown Park that held its grand opening on Aug. 28, 2026. Come for the basics (knits, layers, everyday outerwear) and know about two services here. The UTme! station prints T-shirts and totes with Georgetown designs by Georgetown Cupcake and Kelly Towles, offered for a limited time while supplies last. The RE.UNIQLO Studio does embroidery from $10 and simple repairs, such as stitching or a replaced button, for $5. It also takes clothing donations for Covenant House. Hours are 10am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 7pm Sunday.
For the rest of the neighborhood, our Georgetown shopping walk covers M Street end to end.
Georgetown: Lower Wisconsin Avenue's New Row
Walk north from M Street and the new stores come one after another. Barbour Georgetown (1214 Wisconsin Ave NW) reopened this spring near its old location, in a two-story store in the former Brompton Bike space. It carries the brand's waxed jackets, footwear and accessories for men, women, children and dogs, and it has a personalization station. Ask about Wax for Life, the re-waxing service for older jackets: it is the reason to shop here rather than online.
A few doors up, Frankies Bikinis Georgetown (1240 Wisconsin Ave NW) opened this spring with the Malibu brand's swimwear plus ready-to-wear, knits and activewear. It is a good stop for a winter-trip swimsuit. Neither Barbour nor Frankies posts store hours online, so check before a special trip.
Tuckernuck (1267 Wisconsin Ave NW) is the DC-founded brand's 4,000-square-foot flagship, opened in March 2026 in the former Foxtrot space. Expect preppy clothing, accessories, home goods and gifts. It is open 10am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 6pm Sunday.
At the corner of O Street, Bombas Georgetown (1400 Wisconsin Ave NW) is the sock brand's first DC store, opened Aug. 14, 2026. It sells socks and comfort-focused apparel, and for every item bought the company donates one. It makes an easy stocking-stuffer stop. Hours are 11am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and noon to 6pm Sunday.
Coming next: East Fork, the North Carolina pottery company, has announced its first DC store at 1313 Wisconsin Ave NW. At more than 2,000 square feet it will be the brand's largest, with dinnerware plus gardening, apothecary and pantry goods and in-store workshops. In June it said the store would open in fall 2026. As of late October we couldn't find an opening date, so don't plan a trip around it yet.
Union Market and Northeast
Union Market: Fragrance, Kids' Gear and a Pet Shop
The Union Market district added three shops worth the trip. Le Labo Union Market (1260 4th St NE) is laid out like an open lab, with displays of raw ingredients, and you can browse the fragrance, home, body and grooming lines freely. It is open 10am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 6pm Sunday.
Three Littles Union Market (1325 5th St NE, Suite G1) expanded its store and celebrated with a Great Big Opening on May 2, 2026. It sells gender-neutral baby and kids' clothing, heirloom pieces and toys from ethical brands. It also carries strollers, car seats and nursery gliders, and the shop says it has the region's largest selection of strollers and gear. Go in person to try strollers before you buy. It is closed Mondays and open 11am to 6pm Tuesday to Sunday.
In the same building, Howl to the Chief (1325 5th St NE, Suite D) is a pet store with food, treats, toys and supplies for dogs and cats, open daily from 10am to 6pm. Pair the visit with a meal from our Union Market and Wharf guide.
Logan Circle and Adams Morgan
Logan Circle and Adams Morgan: Small Independents
On 14th Street, Pitango Logan Circle (1802 14th St NW) opened in February 2026 in the former Lou Lou space. It is a gelato and coffee bar with 20 rotating gelato and sorbet flavors, Vigilante Coffee blends and Italian baked goods, and it stays open until 11pm Sunday to Thursday and midnight Friday and Saturday.
In Adams Morgan, Ocula Boutique (2206 18th St NW) held its grand opening in April 2026 in the former All American Gallery space, next door to Yerevan Café. It is an eyewear boutique; hours aren't posted, so call ahead. Up the street, Grift the Rich (1930 18th St NW) launched in February 2026 as a curio and vintage shop, with many finds from estate sales. It takes walk-ins on most weekends from 11am to 5pm and books weekday stylist sessions by appointment. Our Adams Morgan vintage guide lists the shops around it.
Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Tysons
Bethesda Row and Chevy Chase
Bethesda Row had the busiest year in the suburbs. ALO Bethesda (7236 Woodmont Ave, Unit 45) is the Los Angeles yoga and wellness brand's first Montgomery County store, open 10am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 6pm Sunday. Moleskine Bethesda (4808 Bethesda Ave) opened in August 2026 in the former Ladurée space as the brand's first Maryland store. Look for planners, notebooks and limited editions themed to NASA, Sakura and Peanuts. Sephora Bethesda Row (7271 Woodmont Ave) opened early in 2026 in a 6,700-square-foot corner at Woodmont and Elm.
Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesda also added a Gorjana jewelry store and a Beyond Yoga store on its lower level this year.
Just over the line in Chevy Chase, Le Creuset (5481 Wisconsin Ave, Chevy Chase, MD) opened at The Collection in August 2026. It sells enameled cast iron, nonstick cookware and bakeware, including cast-iron colors sold only at this store, which makes it a good stop for gifts. Hours are 10am to 7pm Monday to Saturday and noon to 6pm Sunday. See our Friendship Heights page for the rest of the strip.
Tysons: A Rolex Boutique and Two Mall Additions
At Tysons Galleria, the Rolex Boutique by Liljenquist & Beckstead (2001 International Dr, Suite 2524M, McLean, VA) opened in 2026 near the main entrance. It runs to about 2,800 square feet, with consultation rooms and a glass view into the Rolex service workshop, and a Patek Philippe showroom sits alongside.
Across the road at Tysons Corner Center, American Girl Tysons Corner (1961 Chain Bridge Rd, Space N10L) reopened in January 2026 as a smaller store on the first floor near Barnes & Noble. It still has a doll hair salon, customization stations and a doll care center. On the same floor, Blue Bottle Coffee Tysons Corner opened a kiosk in Fashion Court near Gap in August 2026, its first in Virginia. More on both malls is on our Tysons page.
Getting there
Metro and Parking
Georgetown has no Metro station. Foggy Bottom-GWU (Orange, Blue and Silver lines) is the closest, about a 15-minute walk to M Street. The Washington Harbour garage at 3000 K St NW is closest to lower Wisconsin and M. The DC Circulator stopped running after Dec. 31, 2024, so don't count on it.
Union Market: take the Red Line to NoMa-Gallaudet U. Most district garages give three hours free, then $10 an hour.
Bethesda Row is about two blocks from the Red Line's Bethesda station. Chevy Chase: the Red Line's Friendship Heights station sits at Wisconsin and Western, and The Collection garage at 5425 Wisconsin Ave is free for 20 minutes, then $3 an hour to a $15 daily max.
Tysons: the Silver Line's Tysons station connects to Tysons Corner Center by a covered walkway. Both malls have free parking.
